Bosch Scan 1150?

Hello,

I just bought a Bosch Scan 1150 tool to look in to some ABS codes. I had 3 codes present but it says "No DTC definition found. See service manual" for each of them.

I cleared the codes but they just came right back when I started driving.

I am getting VSC TRAC, VSC OFF and ABS lights on a 4th gen.

Anyone else have this trouble? How can I find what is wrong? Is there something wrong with the scan tool or is there something I need to do to get it to work properly?

I will go to Advance Auto after work to try their code reader to see if mine is not working properly. I will let you guys know.

VSC TRAC, VSC OFF and ABS lights on my rig is a fuel sensor, wheel speed sensor, and because my ABS was pulled a couple years ago due to it giving me issues.

Guess this wont help any as you seem to have narrowed it down to a wheel sensor?

I was just repeating what everyone else told you.

Zero Point Calibration is FREE, if you do it yourself.
DO it yourself. Super easy!
Some have reported getting charged around $100 at the stealership.


My 2004 uses 14 and 4 pins.

If it is not the ZPC, the ABS wires can get damaged/stretched.
Its the double wire from engine bay over wheel area down to the back of each front hub. Check continuity.

Parked flat and level, steering wheel straight.

1. Ensure the shift lever is in Park.

2. Turn the ignition switch ON.

3. Using SST 09843–18040 (paper clip), repeat a cycle of short and open between terminals Ts and CG of DLC3 4 times or more within 8 seconds.
Verify that the VSC indicator light is lit indicating the recorded zero point is erased.

4. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

5. Be sure the terminals Ts and CG of DLC3 are disconnected.

6. Turn the ignition switch ON.

7. Check that the VSC warning light goes off about 15 seconds after the ignition switch is turned ON.

8. After ensuring that the VSC warning light remains OFF for 2 seconds, turn the ignition switch OFF.

9. Connect the terminal Ts and CG of DLC3 using SST 09843–18040.

10. Turn the ignition switch ON.

11. After turning the ignition switch ON, check that the VSC warning light is lit for about 4 seconds and then starts quick blinking at 0.13 second intervals.

12. After ensuring the blinking of the VSC warning light for 2 seconds, turn the ignition switch OFF.

13. Remove the SST from terminals Ts and CG of DLC3.

Drive the vehicle to confirm there are no re–occurring lights or DTCs.

I really do appreciate the feedback. I started this thread for the code reader. It kind of evolved in to the lights/abs sensor. I have tried the ZPC in the past with no luck. I will give it another shot though. Cant hurt...
