Bought 2000 4 runner need opinions

I can't do it myself as I don't have the time. Plus I don't have th expertise that most of you on here have, based on commentary, pictures, and general car smarts.

Besides i budgeted for this so not the biggest worry and besides I like to defer to the professionals.

I would look for a shop that specializes in toyotas or even toyota trucks.
 
I wouldn't necessarily say get a new radiator and transmission cooler. One or the other works just fine. Seeing that you're in Canada, you won't hit the crazy high summer temps that some of us get in the US. 100+ is a reality in California in the summer AND I'm supercharged so transmission cooler is next on my list.

The radiator and cooler is really cheap insurance - sure you can get away with one or the other, but I wouldn't.
 
Thanks angus and everyone. I am building my parts list. Going to go with Oem parts.

Any thoughts on good places to get parts? I want to do one stop shop.

Also, what's the best way to fix the ebrake?

Check out (Google) camelback Toyota parts

It's an online parts store with a physical presence in AZ. Great prices and all oem parts.

Most people on the board use them.

Timing belt, water pump, drive belts, if not done before.
Radiator, thermostat, toyota coolant.
Toyota lower ball joints, probably inner/outer tie rods too.
Fuel filter.
Spark plugs and wires.
Clean MAF/throttle body if looks gross.
Possibly steering rack bushings.
Front/rear diff fluid, transfer case fluid.
Grease drive shaft.
Air filter.
Oil change, filter.
Check battery and connectors.

THIS. I recently purchased a 2000. My #1 was timing belt. Still have a few on this list to check off. I'm not worried at all about cosmetics at the moment as they have nothing to do with reliability on and off the road.

Got approval from the wife for a Sonoran Steel 1.2, saving up the coin for it.
