Bought a 2006 SR5.

Hi Everyone. Thanks for all you guys do to keep such great information available in this forum. It's been a huge help during my search for a 4th gen!

Long story short, I bought a 2006 SR5 2wd from a family member in NYC. I'm actually flying up this weekend to pick it up and drive it home to TX. I've been told that it needs new tires. Depending on how bad of shape the tires are in I might need to pick up a new set on my drive home.

So I was wondering. Does anybody have pictures of a stock height 4th gen with stock wheels and the stock size BFG KO2s (265/65R16 I believe)? I've been searching the 4th gen picture thread sticky and I haven't had any luck. I know that if I jump up to the 265/70R17 there will be some rubbing so I want to keep it stock. I had a set of the old KOs on my truck and absolutely loved them. Thanks in advance for any help!

There may or may not be rubbing with the 265/70/17's. There was a set of that size Wild Country XT's on my '06 Sport when I bought it, and they did not rub. (stock suspension) There was also a BFG KO 265/70/17 as a spare. I swapped it in to see if it would rub and it did not, so you may be OK with going to that size.

Now, with the 2.5" Daystar lift and the 255/75/17 KO2's, I get slight contact with the sway bar at full lock with full suspension compression. It's harmless, and something I'm not going to worry about.

Edit: Just realized you have a 2wd, so my experience may not apply. Sorry!

Thanks for the reply, RonJR. I honestly don't know if the ride height between the stock 2wd and 4wd models is different. I would assume they would be different though.

Thanks for the picture and information. I like the steelies! I'll probably end up sticking with the stock 265/65R17 tires. Man, the new KO2's are expensive!!!

Eidt: Just to clarify, going to get rid of the current tires, and purchase a new set in the stock size. The ones on the truck now look pretty dry rotted.
