Boy do I miss my 04

Now that I am in the market for another 4Runner, the more I am kicking myself for getting rid of my last one. It was the most perfect 4runner IMO. The V8 is what I miss the most!

2004 Sport Edition, V8, 4WD. You just don't see them very often.

Now you know why I keep my 03 V8. I have test drove 5 or 6 different 5th gen 4runners over the last 3 years thinking I would update and left the dealer disappointed in the 5th gen power and smoothness every time.

This was me and the wife a few months ago.. She was dead set on a new runner for herself since she loves mine. We test drove a couple and she just had a look of dissapointment. I automatically just said " you liked mine better huh?" She just quietly replied "Yep.. Why is that?" I can only place it on how smooth the V8s feel.. No other explanation really. Then the sound of the 6 is just bleh.. Personal opinion of course.. It's only a matter of time before we do go back and get one though..:)

That was me too when I traded in my 3rd Gen 2000 TR4, but the 4th Gen V8 makes the difference. It is smooth and powerful. I tested drove a 5th Gen which was very nice, but I still love the smoothness and power the V8 gives in the 2007.

Looks like a LC100 engine cover or a LX470 that you swapped the Lexus badge on. I thought about doing that for my engine, it looks nice!

Looks like the Land Cruiser one, I think the Lexus one is a bit different but I could be wrong. I was really interesting in doing this at one time (http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/103324-2uz-fe-engine-cover.html) but lost steam when I realized how rare the Land Cruiser is around my area and the ones you do find aren't in a scrap yard.

Dat cover... man it looks like it belongs in a Runner! Some Lexus owners might come up with missing covers after people see this. haha

But yea, never get rid of a 4runner. ;)

*Land Cruisers*

Yes, it did come off a LC. It does serve one useful purpose, it quites the injector s down a bit. The ONLY complaint I have with this engine. My Tundra was even louder!

You will only need one bracket, it will fit perfectly. Hell, it's the same engine.
