Brake calipers

Hi everyone, its time to change my brake calipers, any recommendations should I go OEM or aftermarket

I had really good luck with the Raybestos coated ones. They still looked new 3 years later, even in the NE.

The Raybestos are the only ones I will buy now. They last

Searched for 2 weeks and found zero. bought OEM

I meant 2 days, I found one for 2009 but nothing for 5th gen

Wow. You're right. Even the choices on rockauto are significantly diminished these days. My experience was during the height of the covid craze.

I think they were the "element 3" ones but I only see the rears available there. There are others that say they are coated, but I don't really trust the brand names I saw. And I work in aftermarket parts for a living.

OEM will hold up well but pricey and no warranty. My 4th gen is going trough front calipers a lot. I use Lifetime warranty Advance Auto / Carquest brand. I figured it is easy to change and the store have no problem with replacements. No questions asked.

OEM when purchased at a dealer, have 12 month warranty.

I ended up replacing both of my front calipers back in July. I didn't realize I was going to need to replace them till I'd already started the brake job, I had only been planning on pads and rotors. I wanted to get it back together that day, so AutoZone was the closest place, they had them in stock. I wouldn't buy from AutoZone again, when I opened up the calipers to check them they were two different colors. I mentioned it to the clerk, he said they were the last two in stock. Oh well, whatever. Couple months later one of them is now orange, because it's surface rusted.

They work fine, but the difference in color now is really aggravating. Eventually I'll get around to pulling the wheel and painting the rusty one silver.

I searched around and went with NAPA, of all places. Available, decently priced, "lifetime" warranty or something like that, work flawlessly.
