Brake Controller Connector...help please!

I have a brake controller showing up on Monday, and I have been trying to find the connector under the dash that matches the brake controller wiring harness that came with the car (squarish, 6 flat pins).

I have identified 2 capped plugs to the left of the steering wheel under the dash, one with a white/clear cap and one with a blue cap.

The one with the white cap is a female 10 round pin( I think) connector located to the left and and slightly behind the emergency brake. It was electric taped to some cabling. I removed the electric tape to free the cap, and removed the cap to look at it. It does not match the brake controller connector that came with the car. Interestingly, with the cap removed the vehicle will not start (it turns over but does not catch. Glad I discovered this or m wife might have been a bit upset).

The other connector is located to the left and infront of the emergency brake pedal, to the left and slightly behind the small breaker panel. This connector was also taped to a wiring bundle. It appears to have 10 flat pins, and is rectangular in shape. It does not match the squarish rake connector wiring harness provided.

I did order with the brake controller the toyota easy connect wiring harness, so I am crossing my fingers that it comes with an end that matches one of the 2 available open connectors.

What does your controller plug look like? Did anyone find the same thing?

If the connector is not there, or is different than what is provided, I am not going to be happy.

The brake controller plug is located behind the driver's side kick panel (you should not have to take off the panel). It is a rectangular plug that matches the connector plug that came with the ball mount. If you ordered the Toyota adapter you simply plug the adapter into the plug connector under the dash and plug into the controller. You will not need to solder the universal plug (that comes with the controller) to the wiring connector that comes with the ball/mount. I mounted the controller on a extra fuse box cover (OEM) so I can replace the blank cover when not in use.

Thanks for the response. I think I was just tired when I tried to find it, for this afternoon I looked and located it in 2 minutes (wonder what those other 2 harness plugs are used for?).

I installed the prodigy controller, real easy. I put it in the area to the right and below the steering wheel, against the side of the center console. It sits correctly there, with a little added shim on one side to get it aligned. It is sufficiently out of the way (I am 6'1") that my knees do not conact it. It looks nice

I am now eager to get the horse trailer attached and play with my new toy

You may want to install air bags in the springs, very reasonable $100.

Here is a shot of it located to the right of the sterring wheel. You may need to shim one side a bit to get it positioned corectly.

(Shot taken from side so it loks crooked, but it is aligned with the x & Y axis of the vehicle)

Thanks. Do you have a pic of where you mounted the controller?

Other members have mounted theirs on the fuse box cover to the left of the steering wheel. They got a second cover when the controller is not in use.
