Brake fade after new brake pads and rotors

Has anyone else gotten brake fad after new rotors and pad? I recently put on new slotted rotors and new Wagner thermoquiets all the way around. I've driven on the new brakes for probably 2k miles and no issues. But I went roading today and got horrible brake fade. It was bad, I could smell the brake pads. I'm just wondering why now? Are the Wagner pads known to have fading issues?

You probably glazed the pads. I would stick with OE pads because you are less likely to have problems like that.

I've been using Wagner thermoquiets for as long as they've been out. Been using Wagner pads exclusively for about 30 years. NEVER had a problem with them. They are as good or BETTER then OEM pads on most manufacturers.

One other thing to check is your fluid. When was the last time your fluid was replaced?

were you doing a lot of downhill heavy braking?

Did you bed the pads properly before leaning on them?
