Brake Help Please

I have a 2003 4Runner SR5 V8 that I believe came with 16" wheels originally and now have 18" rims on the car from an '07 4Runner. I do a bit of towing and it is time to change the rotors to better suit my needs.

It appears there are two different rotors and possibly two different calipers for vehicles equipped with 16" wheels and vehicles equipped with 17" wheels. The rotor dimensions are something like 12.5" and 13.25".

I would like to upgrade to the 13" rotors if possible, but am wondering if I would be able to use my stock calipers (pads seem to be the same in both cases which leads me to belive the calipers sizes at least are the same) and if I can if I need a new caliper bracket to make this upgrade work. Or, even better if my stock caliper and bracket will work with the 13" rotors some how.

If anyone has done this upgrade before, or knows what it intails I would greatly appreciate the info. Thanks.

The larger brakes were offered on the Sport Edition models. Not sure how it's done exactly, but the caliper does also sit farther out.

Looks like from the thread that the mounting tabs for the Sport calipers are longer. Therefore to get your bigger rotors you will need these calipers as well. An added benefit to this is that there will be more leverage for your braking abilities. GO FOR IT!

One thing I haven't been able to find in any of the other information is if the rear calipers need to be swapped as well. Does anyone know. I can't seem to find the answer.
