Brake Pad Help

Went to Autozone and picked up Duralast Max/Brake Pads - Front, Part No. DGC436 to change on my 2002 SR5 Sport 2wd. Got home and started swapping out pads but realized the outer edge of new pads extended past the outer edge of the rotor by 2-3mm. thought they gave me the wrong part, so went back and checked several different pads listed in their system, directly comparing the new pads to old pads and there is a clear difference being that my old pads are smaller than the new ones. So, do I just need to get OEM pads or has someone encountered a similar problem and have a correct part no.?

Was also looking to go this routehttp://www.autoanything.com/brakes/61A5870A0A0.aspx , but there is a drop down for submodel asking me 297 or 319mm rotors? Is that based on wheel size? So 16" is likely 319mm?

Thanks...

Yea I double checked that and had taken into account outer and inner pad differences.

Should have taken pics... If I hold the old pad surface to the new pad surface, then the new pad surface is wider by several mm's.
