Brake pad swap -- do I need anti squel plate with aftermarket pads?

Finally getting around to swapping lads/rotors.

Went with the a-zone c series.


Swapped out the fronts and did not out the factory anti squel shims back in with the new pad. Is that required in the aftermarket pads?

if the vehicle stops without them i would say they aren't required
