Brake Pads and Rotors

Any recommendations on the best (highest quality) brake pads and rotors for a 2008 4Runner V8 4WD? I'm currently using replacement OEM pads and rotor, but I'd like to find a better performing pad and rotor. My concerns with the OEM rotors is they seem to develop undulations pretty easy. Not sure if it is because they are undersized and get too hot or what.

The first thing I'd do for your Limited is to modify dust shields and fit larger Sport disks. As for the brands: you cant go wrong with EBS and Hawk. Check out Summit Racing they have good prices and free shipping. GL

Im totally in the same boat. been researching forum and web for an hours trying to piece together new pads and rotors. They are too many out there to just blindly buy. i want answers lol

I also feel the OE rotors and pads suck. I have replaced my entire rotor and pad set with NAPA Premium rotors and NAPA Adaptive One pads. No problems for almost a year now. With the original Toyota rotors and pads, they would develop pulsation in a couple months. After 3 trips to the dealership (under warranty but they would charge me each time for turning or pads!!!) I gave up and started doing the work myself at 36,000 miles..

One problem (24,000 miles) ended up being stuck lower pistons on the front rotors, and they STILL charged me for the ruined pads and turning!!!

After I installed the NAPA high priced parts last Winter, I haven't had any more problems.

im using ebay "brakemotive" cross drilled and slotted rotors, and using ebc green pads 6000's series. the rotors are cheap and working fine, spent about 165 or so on all 4 rotors and the pads were from summit racing.

I just ordered some OEM from toyotapartsforcheap.com - I replaced my 06' Taco's brakes with Hawk Ceramics and they worked fine as well. I've never had an issue with OEM - we'll see what happens this time...
