Brake pedal vibration?!

Yes, the pump's buzzing/pulsing sounds the same as it does when the pump initializes at engine start. It's just constantly recurring now at every 2nd pedal depression.

zonian, when you heard the pump buzz, it lasted for about 20 seconds, based on what you said in some of your earlier posts, right? Or was it just a short 2 second buzz initially?

Yeah, when I first noticed the pump kick on it seemed to last between 10-20 seconds especially when it was colder out,. The Frequency was not all that often though. Last night I was at a long red light and timed the frequency and duration and the pump is kicking on every 7 to 11 seconds but now it is only staying on for like 5 seconds. This is at a red light with the pedal depressed obviously. When I am driving it the pump seems to come on less. It is starting to drive me insane cause I can hear and see:lightsaber: the electrcal draw on the motor.

Since I purchased my 4th gen a year ago I have also had this same issue as a constant. It is a 2003 v8 with about 125k miles. At first I thought it was an issue, but it hasn't changed in terms of frequency, noise tone, etc. Everyone else I've spoken to with a 4th gen is unaware that theirs makes this noise. My brother who also has a 4th gen V8 alerted me to the fact that mine makes a "strange noise" when braking. Says his never does make that noise. I find it hard to believe something this annoying would be considered "normal."

My '03 has done that since it was new, over 125k miles. It IS normal. It is the brake booster pump on the other side of the firewall.
