Brake squeal

2004 4runner v8 4wd SE with 105k

My front left (driver side) brakes were squealing when ever I would apply soft to medium pressure; I got the truck about 5k miles ago and never checked brake lining so I just figured it was the brake squealers and time for new pads.

I ordered ebc greenstuff for all 4 wheels, got new brake pins, and pad spreader spings; the front rotors were thick and oem so I had them turned before I slapped the new pads on, I lubed everything including the back of the pads, everything went together fine (other than having to replaced the passenger side caliper due to a frozen piston)

Everything's back together and the brakes feel amazing! BUT, the squeal is still there! I have no idea what it could be, it's only the driver front, and only during soft to medium brake pressure. Everything that could be squealing has been replaced and done right!

The squeal is LOUD, I mean to the point where I keep my front windows up.

BTW all the pads that I replaced were Toyota and had about half life left, I changed them anyway since I already had the parts and wanted ebc greenstuff on there, but the point is, it wasn't the pads causing the squeal before I replaced with the ebc.

My only ideas are
-dust shield (but it's not touching anything, and I bent it back anyway just to make sure)
-the thin metal "hardware" that the pads slide back and forth on (even though they're fully lubed, maybe they've worn thin)
-one caliper bolt was hard going back in (this is the only thing abnormal about the whole brake change) but it's all the way in and tight

My brakes are completely fine, but I'll get an occasional squeal, too... Maybe get the calipers rebuilt or replaced? Not sure what it is..

Its normal for the first couple hundred miles, u must also bed the pads in, then the sound should go away, also have you ever flush the old fluid out? Gota take advantage of the ebc pads. They are good, when i had the green stuff, lasted me 60k with slot and crossdrilled rotors, and i brake kinda hard. Did you get the 6000 or 7000?

I got the 6000, it says they don't last as long / more brake dust, so I figured they were softer and better for braking.

It's been about 3k miles, I drove from md to nc to fl and back, still squealing, maybe not as bad, but still pretty bad.. only the driver side front. I'll figure it out once I get some free time I guess.

I have a similar issue. I replaced rotors on my 07 with EBC and used OEM Toyota pads. Replaced all the pins, clips, shims, springs too. Now I have a squeal at medium pressure that fades when they get warm.
I had a pulsing peddle before with stock rotors and raybestos pads. Now I have a squeal with no pulsing. Very annoying.
Next thing to try is some anti seize around the caliper mounting points and on the bolts. Might even put a little on the back side where the rotor meets the hub. Should probably flush some new fluid through the system too.

Yeah it's pretty annoying, I'm living in an apartment for the next few months until I close on my house (hopefully) so I'm just going to let it go until I have a nice driveway / garage to check it all out, I guess it could possibly be the caliper, if one of the pistons is 'loose', who knows, I'm just going to let if go for now though, I know everything is new and safe so, it's really just the noise I'm dealing with, windows up for a bit..
