Brake Thump?

Hello, all! New guy and gal from Montana--first post. We just got a 2000 SR5 and have a wierd thump after braking. I looked on the FAQ and searched--didn't find anything, just wondering what it is? After braking, when you let up on the brake pad you can feel (more than hear) a thump. It feels like a pad slipping up to a stop or ???. I checked the U-joints and they are tight. Doesn't happen every time, only after kind of a strong brake. Hope someone has experienced and knows the fix. Thanks!

I think it may be the ABS it happens to me if I hit the brake hard all of a sudden and especially when its raining, there's a thump then shake then its fine.

Lube your driveshaft slip joint. End of story.
I drove my truck for 8 years with that mother f@#$%n thump.
The whole time I thought it was a tranny ready to go. Tremendous load off the shoulders to find out that it was a 5 minute free fix.
Pump more grease than you think necessary through it. If that doesn't work. Do it again.

That was it!

It was a dry driveshaft spline binding after braking then releasing when you took your foot off the brake. Thanks a bunch guys! What an easy fix!!!!
