Brake Upgrade Recommendations

Be careful!

Grinding may not be a great idea. If you grind the wrong spot, you'll weaken the caliper wall-- I've read of one guy that toasted his new calipers by doing this. If you insist on grinding, be careful with the wheels as well.

The split 3's will definitely not fit. Do yourself a favor and find some 4R LTD 01-02' 5-star or flower rims from a wrecker. If you can't afford it, again, just be careful---- and good luck.

There are just so many wheels for sale out there for cheap that will work, I can't see why anyone would grind on the split 3s.
 
Grinding the calipers

Thanks everyone for the input. I'm going with the 231mm mainly because of towing

Don't grind the calipers, it's been tried before. The housing is actually quite thin where it rubs the wheels and it'll leak fluid.
