As with anything performance for vehicles, there are too many options out there. Yet, I personally ONLY use Hawk HPS pads and Powerslot Slotted rotors on everything I own. I have a high performance SRT8 Charger, a little pre-runner fast off road truck and my Yota is running this same package. Very little dust, no noise, and the best non-racing brake pad compound I have found. I can go on for an hour on brake technology but Im too lazy to write that much.
I have tried other brands, and if I cant find the Hawk HPS pads,(which has never happened yet,) I would run an OEM pad.
As far as rotors, I only use Slotted. Slotted rotors, keep my pads clean, and helps to remove some heat. OEM sized cross drilled rotors if you are not careful, can and will reduce your braking ability under hard, performance, or heavy load conditions. The reason you ask! Cross drilled rotors in an OEM size remove more braking surface, up to and sometimes more than 11% of the rotor area, thus resulting in less braking performance. So, slotted is the way to go for and upgrade. I have been running this combo for well over 20 years with fantastic results. Look at most forms of motorsports and you will see more cars running slotted over cross drilled. Just my opinion. Thanks for reading.
