Braker COntroller Location (05')

I'm setting up the 4Runner for towing and would like opinions on where to mount the brake controller. It looks pretty tight under the dash and wouldn't mind some opinions if there are any.

Also, is it worth the 10-12 bucks to buy the wire adaptor or just use the wiring kit that came with the 4Runner?

Thanks.

You can get an extra fuse door and mount the controller on the door so when you're not using the brake controller you would just swap doors. I believe member Koz has pictures of his setup on the fuse door.

Others have mounted the controller on the lower dash panel below the ignition key and above the gas pedal.

Hmmm, that's a good idea, thanks!

Thats exactly what I did. It works great with my Prodigy controller.

The extra door isn't super cheap, but its not expensive either. I suppose it depends on anal you are at keeping your interior clean when you aren't towing.

I used the OEM adaptor that came with the truck. You will have to connect (solder) some wires but you'll save $10/15.
