Brakes are weak after caliper rebuild

I rebuilt my calipers and replaced my brake lines with SS braided. I bled the brakes several times using the two man method. But my brakes are still very weak and the pedal is spongy/soft. Could i still have air in the system? The fluid was coming out solid with no bubbles when i finished my last round of bleeding. The brake lines were open for a while, like 6 months before i got everything put back together.

Try bench bleeding the master cylinder, you probably have air in it. If that doesn't work you might have a leak in the lines somewhere.

I don't have any leaks, if it was leaking in the caliper i'm sure i woulda seen some fluid by now dont you think?

Can I bench bleed it on the truck?

I suppose you could. I've never tried.

You might have to pump the pedal about 75x, no lie.
Had the same issue with a project car that sat for a very long time.
I even had to go back to it a day or two later and bubbles magically appeared even after I thought everything was good.

Thanks, the truck was sitting for along time about 7 months with the brake lines open. I just finished rebuilding my entire front end so I'm taking it for alignment. I'm gonna have the shop do a break flush and just be done with it. They are working good enough to get me there, so gotta drive slow haha

where are the bleeder screws?
I have a feeling the calipers got put back on wrong side. if the bleeder screws are on the bottom, that is the problem. the system is still full of air.

They are on the top. I just got it back from the shop, i had them do a flush. It's allot better but not what i was expecting. Not sure if the pistons in the caliper are sticking? I used the proper brake lube when a rebuilt them. Maybe they just need break in time IDK.
