Brakes Squeak When Pedal Released

A few weeks ago I gave a family member my supercharged 1999 4Runner (2wd) and bought a 2000 Limited. I'm thinking of swapping the supercharger later but that's for another discussion.

Anyways, I noticed when ever I release the brake pedal it makes a squeaking noise. I believe it's coming from somewhere in the brake pedal assembly.

Has anyone had the same issue? If so, what was it and were you able to fix it?

Anyone have any ideas how to remove the panel beneath the steering wheel to access the brake pedal assembly?

The squeaking noise is driving me crazy and I'd love to get rid of it, thanks.

Just picked up my 2016 Limited, and I experience a pretty audible "wet shoe" sound when depressing the brake. Guess it's normal so I won't sweat it.

Is it also normal to hear a single louder click/whoosh/something when shifting into gear the first time after starting the vehicle? It happens once and then not again until the vehicle shutoff and restarted.

Thank you.
