Brakes sticking, '99 Limited

Tonight I was leaving a friends house, and my front wheels were on dry pavement and the rears were on some pretty slick ice (I was in 2WD) and I started to take off from the stop sign, and went nowhere...the rears spun and the vehicle stayed completely put. Obviously my front brakes were sticking. I know the PO had the front brakes done (unsure of exactly what work was done) so that has be a beat leary...I also notice that at stop lights the truck won't creep forward at all without some throttle.

I searched and found mostly 2nd gen issues with no resolution.

Has anyone any experience with this issue?

Are your front wheels hot after a drive? If you cant figure it out, I have my old calipers I would be willing to give you for the price of shipping. They worked fine, rotors were just warped.

Thanks man, I appreciate it and will let you know once I verify exactly which brakes are sticking. I'll tinker with it tomorrow.

i also have the exact same problem when its really cold out. car wont start rolling from a stop without some throttle. i was thinking it was my rear brakes maybe because i -was- having a thing where if i was on a very steep incline when i would put the ebrake on and let off the bake it would shudder slightly, and someone told me that is from a rear shoes misalignment. ???

Well drum brakes will always creak or moan a bit when you slowly release them with load on the brakes, that's normal.

im talking about jolting/lurching maybe 2-3 times before it catches, not ust noise. i dont mind noise, my brembos on the wagon will creak like a semi if i let off the pedal just right, lol!

Happened again today, read another guy having the same problem and changing his calipers didn't do anything. I'm almost suspecting a master cylinder issue.
