Hey, i am new here and new to working on 4 runners or any sort of suv for that matter. I have plenty of experience working on smaller cars, but i need some help. Yes, i searched and found nothing.
I have no idea how to get the front hubs off of my 1990 4wd v6 auto 4runner, and i have been trying to figure it out since yesterday but no one seems to know how or have the info on how to do it. Haynes sucks, the toyota dealership here only had an exploded view of the parts, which is nice but doesnt help. A technition there told me there was a little retainer ring or clip, but definately not! I have the wheel off, the little grease cap off, the small bolt in center under the cap is off, the nuts around the center of the hub are all off, but the plate that they hold on will not come off. It looks almost like i need some sort of special gear puller like tool to get it off, but i dont know. Any help would be GREAT!
I am also alittle confused about something i read earlier today, i think it was some sort of car and driver review of used 4runners or something. But it said that the 1991 4runner was the first year to have a full metal roof and the 1992 was the first year they had the spare tire under the rear of the vehicle, but mine has both of these and its only supposed to be a 1990 model, i am just assuming they were wrong?
