question, I just bought new pads and rotors for my 4runner and hate the pads they are from a company called axiss and they are terrible. my once nice looking factory rims are now black with break dust. I want to go back to EBC green stuff pads had them on before and they were great. no fade and NO BREAK dust! I think the pads have just worn in with the new rotors. so my question is can I just switch the pads or do I have to switch the rotors as well? I don't remember how many miles are on the new pads and rotors but somewhere around 3-4 thousand if that.thanks for the help:confused:

you should be fine just switching pads ... if you are that worried about it, you can always have the rotors turned a little to give the new pads a fresh surface.

after that many miles the brake pads will have "seated" with the rotors. You will have to have your rotors re-machined when you get new brake pads or the new pads will warp your rotors. It should cost less than $100 to re-machine.
