Braking vibrations with Tundra upgrade

I'm having a pretty bad shudder when hard braking. I've done the tundra brake upgrade. New pads, shoes, rotors and drums turned. Brakes have been bled. I don't feel the shuddering when light braking only when hard braking. I'm at my wits end trying to remedy this. Any suggestions? Where did I go wrong?

Maybe the rotors are sitting unevenly on the hubs due to rust build up? I'm curious to see the outcome of this, I've noticed some vibrations on mine as well (but not really in the steering wheel?), I've got the 199mm upgrade with Brembo rotors and Advics pads, new brembo drums out back. I have no idea what to think at this point, the suspension on my truck has been gone over more ore less top to bottom at this point (new LCA bushings, KYB shocks 2 years ago,ball joints check out good).
 
BTW I have the 199mm Tundra brakes up front.

Someone suggested it may be the ABS system? or shocks? It's so frustrating!:rant:

Same deal, did the 231mm brake upgrade and I have a vibration around 40mph +

Cant really notice it any lower than that, I was thinking I had defective drums, because the shaking is not in my steering wheel.
Drums or rust?

I've done this upgrade but had vibrations before. I recently replaced the rear shocks and its surprising how it reduced vibrations in the steering wheel and what felt like front end play. I'm hoping that replacing the front shocks fixes the rest of the vibrations. This may or may not have anything to do with your situation but its something to check out. You do have more unsprung weight now so a weak front shock could be a problem.
 
If the rotors were made in the PRC, you may have one or two bad out of the box. I had to return three, yep three to AA since they were out of round.

Check to make sure the pins and all other hardware move freely.

Caliper bolts tightened to 90ft/lbs?
 
Stock suspension. Calipers about 3 y.o. Can't remember rotor country of origin.

Just replaced an axle seal. I'm going to check it tonight to see if I fubared it while installing it (I bought 2 just in case) and axle fluid has leaked into the drum.

There is no shuddering if i apply the emergency brake only. No shudder when lightly applying brakes. Only shudders when hard braking.

Will check torque on caliper bolts.
 
Ok. Wife brought the 4runner by over lunch and i drove it. Vibrations are coming from the rear brakes when E-brake is applied traveling over 40 mph going downhill. I'm going to check to see if I have a wheel cylinder leaking. I'll update this thread after I do some more investigating.
 
Replace bearings and seals less than 3 years ago (less than 25k miles). Bearing seamed to be fine when I replaced seal last weekend.
 
Only thing I can think of that would cause vibration from the rear brakes would be bad bearings. Unless the drums are warped? That's not very common though.
 
The drums and rotors were turned? I'll bet the resurface job was uneven. Buy new drums (and maybe rotors) and I'll bet your problem disappears.
Also, shouldn't be replacing rear axle seals after 25K miles.
 
Well it looks like a made a rookie mistake. I failed to scuff the new shoes on the passenger side rear. Did it on the driver side. Just skipped it (in a rush) on the passenger side. Sanded the shoes and cleaned the gunk from the drum. Smoothed everything out.
