Brand New 2015 4Runner: Am I getting a good deal?

Sure you don't want a 4x4? Price doesn't seem bad considering what I paid for a 4x4 TEP.
Let me start by saying ....I never understand why people get 4x2 runners or trucks for that matter....just save yourself some money and buy a car.....
Second....its best to leave out tax, title etc. when comparing prices people pay.....each state has a different tax....
For what it's worth I got a TEP 4x4 with paint protection, KDSS suspension and exhaust tip for 38K ....I'm in Maine.

Just purchased a 15' 4Runner SR5 Premium 4x2(wife's car), for 5100 off MSRP which was $30,600. Leather, sunroof, nav, etc. No running boards though which I am currently looking for some now. To clarify, 1000 of the amount off of MSRP was a special Toyota is running for military members and those who work for the military which is what I do.

I always heard tell that when both parties are happy it's a good deal.
If you have to ask whether the price is a good deal or not then you probably haven't done enough homework or compared enough of the vehicles, trim packages, spent time online etc. I spent months looking at T4R's online via auto trader, edmunds, etc, looking up different trim packages, pricing, inquiring with dealers. When I found my current truck it was the cheapest truck I could find in a 500 mile radius, from all the research I had done I knew trucks in this price range weren't lasting long, called the dealership, talked to the salesman, he had all the paperwork ready for me when I got off work and less than an hour later I was driving home with what I new was a good deal. Granted I always buy 2 year old vehicles, so used market may be slightly different. But process I think should be the same if you are buying new. Know what rebates, discounts, dealer incentives are available, talk to multiple dealers, research new car prices on edmunds, etc.
If you are considering 4x2 … you might look at the highlanders or Versa's as well. Both have pretty nice trim packages and probably a softer ride.

Nothing wrong with a 4x2 4runner if you don't ever go offroad... the 4x2 weighs 500lbs less and will get better mpg and have better acceleration... It's basically a better 4Runner on the road than a 4x4. However, if you go off-road on anything but dirt roads... the 4x2 will not be good. 4x2s have a much worse resale value. In fact, in snow regions... they basically don't sell at all.
Since you don't mind being off topic... get over it. Some people want a roomy, well-built, vehicle, and don't want or need 4 wheel drive. Sure, folks could get a Highlander, but they don't want to. And just because it shocks you (for no apparent reason other than you are polarized to the thought that a TEP is the only acceptable 4Runner), you don't need to blast the OP for not wanting the extra expense of a 4x4. Just saying.

I wish I could get a brand new '15 TEP KDSS for 38K. In the PNW, you can only get away with a '15 SR5 Base 4x4 for that price.

I just got my TEP for $37,500 before TTL. One thing for those not in the gulf states to know is there is a $995 middle man fee for Gulf States Toyota. So basically it was like getting it for $36,500 in Denver.
Don't let the salesman tell you that the seats on an SR5 premium are leather. They are SofTex (synthetic leather). I have nothing against SofTex....it's a great material and synthetic leather has come a long way since the sticky vinyl days. In fact, most people won't even be able to tell the difference. But only the Limited comes with (real) leather.
Use it as a bargaining chip by saying to the salesman..."hmmm , I thought only the Limited had leather, isn't this fake leather??"
