Brian757's "Stormtrooper" Build Thread

So while on my skiing trip, I noticed my bug deflector on my hood was flapping a little too much. I ended up removing it to inspect the damage and the thing broke in my hand! So I am going to purchase a Weathertech bug deflector to replace it. It looks weird without it in my opinion.

Here are some photos: (I had some chips in my grill as well.)

The next time we hangout, can you help me remove mine as well? I've been trying to lately but I can't figure out how without breaking the little buttons!

Joerocho: Yeah man. That sounds good. I have been real busy lately, but could help you out one day. There should only be about 7-8 clips that have a push down on them. If your fragile with them, they will come right out. It required a small/thing flathead screwdriver for me, but they all came out quick.

Okay, word. Let's hangout soon for sure. I want to try and figure out why I'm still having my VSC TRAC and VSC OFF light on. AND my check engine light, too. But I also found this link on here that shows all the codes and what they mean. So I can look them up on here when I get ANOTHER diagnosis done.

Snowboard Rack

Hey man, just looking through your build thread, which is quite nice, and had two questions. 1.) How has your Thule snowboard rack held up? I have heard that they aren't as great quality as the yakima (currently trying to decide which to buy) 2.)Did you paint the headlights yourself or order them? (May have missed that in the thread)

My rack has held up quite well actually. However, I take it off when the season is over, so that they don't get weathered throughout the year. Also, I park in a garage at work, and I literally have 2-3" before I rub the ceiling, and the racks would certainly scrape.

Whered you get those headlights from? im digging the black housing.. or did you just modify them haha?

I did not paint the headlights, they are Anzo brand:
Here is the Specific post about them

Thanks for the compliment!

I have FJ Superflex coils in the rear. They arent factory for the FJs, and add 2" of lift alone. I'm not quite sure about the factory coils, but I dont see why not.
The compression of the coil is intended for the heavier FJ, but I love the ride.

Right on, I'm going to attempt the install next weekend, I have the factory rear shocks also, we'll see how much lift is achieved. Thanks for the reply.

I also took it offroad for a bit. This was backwoods in some mud trap. It was down a stormdrain back into city property. It was basically a loophole around the other entrances that had "DO NOT ENTER" & "No Trespassing" posted everywhere. I had a lot of fun. I pulled out and a cop was driving right by, I had mud ALL over me. He didn't even stop, just drove right on by.

Where is this? Not Burton, is it?

No, it was in Chesapeake. Johnstown Road to be exact.

Toyed with a Izuzu Trooper the other day, got a reckless ticket...
70 in a 35... Whoo-ee-DAMN!! My lead foot lost a couple pounds.

On a side note, glancing at the ticket, for RACE he put "W," and I'm not going to make the assumption that he stated my ethnicity as white, no. I'm assuming it was a WIN for that race :)

My lawyer is a good guy, and we both know the officer who ticketed me. My lawyer is good friends with the judge we are seeing in December. I'm hoping it goes over well!

That is the update with my vehicle. All of my finances are currently going towards the city, and not my truck :(
I'm missing out on winter preparation! Lesson learned...

Racing an Isuzu Trooper?! LOL damnit Brian...

Haha. :ybrick:
I knowww... It almost hurts more coming from you than my own mother.

I beat him, and got a thumbs up when I hit the brakes and he passed me. I hit a stop light and saw red 'n blue flying up behind me. The Izuzu got away..

Let me just get my head unit stories out now. I went through quite a few, some I dont even have pictures of. But let me show you 2 that I liked the most.

First was my Pioneer head unit.
It was nice and put out good sound.
Notice I was converting my HUD to Blue at the time.

And then, my current head unit, the Alpine CDA-117.
It has treated me so well, and it is incredible with audio controls. Makes my sound system roar.

How'd you do this? Was this a relatively cheap mod?
