I was given a pretty good compliment yesterday.
I put my truck in the shop for a Virginia State Inspection and upon picking up my truck at the end of the day, I received an offer from the inspector.
He asked me if I performed my own work and I told him yes. He said that the engine bay and underbody look prestine, and that he'd be willing to trade his vehicle for mine:
His vehicle. A 1992 Acura NSX w/40,000 miles(Original Engine/Tranny):
I laughed and told him I really liked his car. He walked me to it and showed me around. It's immaculate, and it's built. Too bad I'm a father and need space for a car seat. He told me he wasn't selling it, and was considering going with a truck/SUV, but would want someone who cares for their vehicles to trade/buy his NSX one day.
After telling him thank you and to have a great day, he looked at me hard and said, "Think about it."
ON A SIDE NOTE:
Ordered 1.25" Spidertrax Wheel spacers to replace broken All-Pro 1.5" wheel spacers.
Put myself on the waiting list with Vin @ SCS for some Matte black F5 3.5" BS wheels.
Once I receive the wheels, I'm wrapping them in 315-75R16 BFG AT's.
THEN, getting Yukon gears (4.88).
THEN, I'm done for awhile... I hope.

Finally got the 1.25" Spidertrax spacers in the mail. First thing I will say is that Spidertrax knows how to package their materials and everything looked very professional. I would certainly do business with them again.

The entire time, I've been driving with lug-centric wheel spacers when I thought I had hubcentrics..

I've been thinking about it. I was thinking about trading him and maybe selling it to start over with a different 4Runner. I don't know though. Having a child would make owning an NSX extremely difficult as it's only a 2 seater.
And I'm pretty sure my girl would have my ass. She loves the 4Runner. I would be in the dog house or sleeping in the NSX.

That's why I laughed when he told me. I didn't take him seriously. He could very well turn around and sell his car and build his own 4Runner. I took it as a compliment.

So I'm losing the aggressive look. The Nittos are a bit too aggressive and bad on MPG's for me, and I need a more road friendly tire as I'm now putting around 50 miles a day on my truck. I have thoroughly enjoyed the Nitto Mud Grapplers, but here come the long-lived BFG A/T's.
I'm also going up to a 35" flavor!

nice truck, enjoyed reading your forum. live in VB too and started at shorebreak late last year... small world. have a 99 sr5 but buying another 4runner soon with less miles and hope to have it looking like yours.

Haha, I thought the guy was kidding but I received a call from the shop a few days ago. It was the girl I know that works there that wants to buy my truck. After bugging her as to why she wants it, she said she wanted to trade her friend for the NSX. Apparently he was asking her how much I'd sell my truck for. I didn't know he was serious.
I also trust my truck on trips and enjoy not hitting 93 at gas stations

[MENTION=96546]tre9er[/MENTION]: So I just got out of work and snapped a couple pictures of the 35s. These BFGs make me feel like my truck isn't running because they're so quiet compared to the Nitto Muds. I don't notice a height difference, but the ride is definitely nicer.
I also planned to get SCS F5 wheels but I personally feel the 35s are too narrow, so I'm opting for a wider steel wheel, and more specifically the Black Rock 942 series. Some of the specifics are that they're 16"x10" with a -38 offset(which I think is a bit intense) and a 4" backspace:

Yeah, the steelies will prove difficult being 16x10s, but I might just do away with the wheel spacers and tub the wheel wells to fit them. Thank you for the compliment.
I think the competition lies in who can drain their bank account first!

Does Ryan Stinard still bus there then? I used to know all the waitresses, managers, bussers, etc. I worked there for 3 years before I jumped ship. I knew Brett the owner, Shaun, JB Maas & Doug the floor managers, Ryan the bar manager, Marino the dish washer, Josh the line kitchen manager, and the multiple waitresses that came and went.
Aaron was my manager for awhile. He and I were cool, but I left saying I had to "go back to school" and never contacted them back. So it ended on weird terms. You could mention Brian Squires. I'm sure they'd remember me.
