Bridge Day 2017

Anyone else on the forum going to be in West Virginia this year for Bridge Day?

Festival, Rappelling, Jumping, Rafting or otherwise?

This will be my third year down there to rappel and in the previous two I saw tons of T4R's roaming about. As I have been focused on other adventures I was wondering if there are any good trails local to the New River Gorge, specifically near the I-19 crossing since that is were our team will be set up at.

We spent most of our free time north of the bridge in Monongahela NF prior to the weekend but did make it within a few miles of Thurmond, just after the yellow lines disappeared. We will be making the trip from there down to Prince next year for sure when we have more time. Found this cool waterfall though when we turned around... Funny, something like this would be on the state map in Ohio as a destination with postcards and everything haha Thanks for the lead [MENTION=66316]1engineer[/MENTION]

You are welcome. I know that spot. We are so used to scenery like that because it's everywhere down here! Right now we are cutting in a new trail we scouted a month ago. This trail is two miles long, but the hook is over a half mile will be a tunnel through 25-35 ft tall Rhododendron. On top of that it follows a cliff line with breathtaking views of the creek 700 ft below. It's five minutes from my house and why I live here. Here's a pic of the initial cut of about 300 ft of trail. The cliff edge is 10 ft to the right.
