No worries; nobody in the group will be looking to beat up their vehicles. Mainly we are looking to test a few things out before Jambo. This will be my first wheeling trip with this rig so I am curious to see how it goes.
Cool. Keep an eye on the other thread and I will confirm once it is set. Right now it looks like a Sunday is most likely.
CBs are nice but I think only a few in the group have them. I still need to get one installed but I have a handheld Midland unit that is working for now. I am really curious to see how the trails have changed since I have not been out there in a few years. I want to get back to the off road park Tolar as well. When it first opened it was kind of weak but it has been there a few years now so the trails should be getting rutted in decently.

I should be in for this trip if it lands on a Sunday. I may or may not have a CB installed by then but probably not since I have not seen a way to mount the antenna on the back that I like yet.

I am pretty sure there will be more trips to either Bridgeport, Tolar, or Gilmer this summer. Probably Hidden Falls as well.

I am in Granbury so Dallas is a bit of a drive for me; not that work does not put the miles on me anyways.

I've been to Bridgeport about 10 times over the past year so I'm pretty comfortable with it.
I used to drive a 4Runner but nowadays I drive a lifted FJ.
I highly recommend a CB, and remember they only take cash at the gate.
I was thinking about going this Sunday, the 14th.
I'll be out there either way, but if anyone is new to wheeling and just wants to try some beginner trails to see what
your vehicle can do without risking any damage, I would be happy to show you where you can go for that.
There are a lot of good spots for "poser pics" too.
If you do not have 4wd you're on your own though. I'm not interested in 2wd groups, they can't go where
I can and I end up spending all my fun time pulling them out of holes.

How is the Minos and the three trails right below the power lines? Last time I was out there I was in a IDGAF '87 4R with a locker and 33s. I am not going to wheel this 4R like that 4R. I am really looking forward to relearning the place again. I used to know it like the back of my hand but it has been a while.

You know how it is, its different every time you go out there.
Rain has a big impact since the quarries flood, but the runoff also creates big ruts that can turn a 2 into a 4.
Then other times they get the backhoe out and flatten out some of the more fun trails and turn a 4 into a 2.

I prefer it when its really dry though, I'm not a fan of mud, it's too unpredictable and I haven't decided on a winch setup yet.
I'll be at the Jambo again this year, any of you guys going?

Yeah; the fun off out there makes it pretty interesting on the trails. I am the same way about mud - I try to skip it when I can.
I will be at Jambo. I already have my reminder to register on Monday. I know 4-6 guys on the other forum are planning to go as well. We usually have 7-10 rigs show up. This Saturday I am judging beer for the Bluebonnet Homebrew competition so I cannot get out and play.

Hey I'm not registered on that other site but I saw some folks asking about OHV stickers in the DFW area. If you want to spread the word, they can pick up an OHV sticker at Grubbs Nissan in Hurst. It's actually a Jeep shop in the back of Grubbs called Screamin Lizard, they usually have them, I've bought them there and another place I've gotten them is Burleson Power Sports on 174, if you are that far South.
