All the Wrangler Silent Armor tires promise the same level of protection. They all come with a 50,000 mile warranty. For my load the P should be just fine. What the heck, it is only an $850 experiment.

When are you getting them on ?

Love to see some nice close up shots of the tire / tread ect.... You can only tell so much from the Tirerack photo. I cant wait to hear what you think about them , they are supposed to be a tough good all terrain.

I have not problem with "P" rated. They do ride nice and are lighter for a little better milage. What did you mean when you said the "P" offers the same protection as the "C" or and "E" ? Are they all the same tread and sidewall ply ??

I expect the tires to be in within a week.

The Goodyear site for the Wrangler Silent Armor didn't distinguish between the load ratings. Same steel belts, same Kevlar belt, same sidewall protection & same rim protection.

I will admit that these Revos are MUCH better in the wet and sleet, than the AT KOs. The new ceramic brake pads and cryogenic rotors stop the 4Runner quicker than stock. The ABS has yet to kick in with the Revos. The ABS often was used with my AT KOs, after say 20,000 miles of use. Tires do "work harden" after so many heat cycles. So as they age their stopping power diminishes. It may not be fair to compare new Revos with worn AT KOs.

I will also admit that the BFG AT KOs lasted longer than any tire I have ever owned. With well over 1 Million pleasure miles under my belt, I've been thru a lot of tires.

As far as tire cost? Well, I spend about $400 each time I change the two tires on my BMW motorcycle. I change these tires every 6,000 miles, or so. By comparison, the 4Runner is a bargain when it comes to tires.

Revo is def. better in wet, rain , sleet , super nice ride too. I was not impressed with off roading or mud , the biggest thing I did'nt like was in deep wet snow and hard packed wet snow. I was really disappointed in them , everyone said they were the cats but over the BFG but I found that far from the truth.

They are a great all around tire though , I kind of classify them as an aggressive all-season tire. Actually that is what the Revo dealer said.

The BFG does seem to harden with time but will last longer because of it. There are so many tires I wwould like to try my wife would kill me .

As soon as I get the call from Sam's Club, I'll replace these tires.

I'll bet the "bouncy" issue some have described is one of the main reasons I made the switch.

You won't fit 285's without a lift and some trimming. They will fit on stock wheels. HERE is a pic of a 4runner with 285's on stock wheels.

OK, the new 265/70/17P Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor tires are installed. 10 miles so far, so no opinions yet. I'll start a new thread with my review in a few days.

I'll add though, that life with the Dueler Revo E tires was getting better as they wore-in. I probably had 5,000 miles, or so, on them.

What made you decide to give up on the revos? Also, why go with the silent armor, why not go with the BFG AT KO's? Finally, I need some clarification on the revos. So they only come on load range P and load range E? Or are they P rated and not C or D rated? Thnx

My Revo's are LT rated 265-75-R16 and fit without trimming

Yes, Sam's Club called to say they couldn't get the GY SAs. Probably due to the strike. So, they made me get the tires somewhere else and return the Revos. I found the SAs at Sears for $80 more.
