Bridgestone REVO or Timberline A/T II

I posted this in the tire forum, but doesn't seem like many go in there, and I want to let the tire shop know if I want them to order the REVOs or not.

anyways, the tire shop I go to can get the REVO's but he doesn't carry them in stock.

But he mentioned that he does have the Timberline A/T II in stock, and it's about $50 less per tire, and is made by Bridgestone. Plus it has a 60k warranty, compared to the 50k that the REVO has.

Just wondering what everyone thought of these tires? How is the quality, road noise etc. I would like to get something better then the original Bridgestone's that my Runner came with, something with better ice/snow traction.

I always hear good things about Revo's and am not familiar with Timberline A/T II.

If you want a 3rd option look at Nitto Terra Grappler's, they are really affordable and great tires.

Timberline is like the 2nd bas**** stepchild of Bridgestone:

Bridgestone --> Firestone --> Timberline

Do you want to adopt a 2nd stepchild of a family??

In other words, i would skip it. Yes, it is cheaper. But, in this world, nothing is free. Yes, Timberland does not advertise much...thus, is giving the "savings" to you...or some BS like that. Bottom line, Timberline tires are based on Bridgestone tires with less and less features on it. I would go with Firestone Destination A/T (if avail at your seller store) as an alternative to REVOs IF you had to stay within the Bridgestone family.

That's sort of what I thought, but just wanted to make sure they weren't some secret treasure tire.

I can give some insight into the Destination A/T, if you do go that route. Had a set put on my previous truck to replace the OEM Michelins. They were quiet, balanced well, had pretty good snow grip, but the dry grip seemed to be lacking -- which may have been due to my lead foot. And they had a good mileage warranty on them, 60K I think.
