so awhile back ago i graded my low beams to xenon depot 4300k HID kit i love them one of my best mods and money well spent. but now obviously my brights are not that brights compared to HID's are there any bulbs out on the market that i could get to make my brights brighter ? or has anyone done anything else? besides put on external lights.

I noticed that when I put PIAA bulbs in my low beams, and I am thinking about ordering a 4300k HID kit today, which will make my brights even MORE useless, lol. I don't think there's anything you can do except use the brightest bulbs possible like Silverstars for your brights.

You MIGHT be able to fit an HID kit for them, but it is really bad for the bulbs to be turned on and off quickly, so using HID's for your highs would be pretty useless and bad for them.

Did you take any before shots of how the regular lowbeams looked before the HID's?

nope sry man i didnt but the regular low beams were just your normal stock halogen bulb being shot throu a projector they weren't very good for my liking

Think about the HIR1 high beams

so your Low beams are on 100% of the time at night, and your High Beam is on, when you run them.

I dont have a HID kit in my T4R, but my SAAB 93 had it, and I love it.

for $25 a bulb I replaced my stock high beams for HIR and they are a lot brighter, the estimates on the web sites is 70% brighter for the same wattage

I dont have calibrated eyes nor the equipment to judge lumens, but I can say the HIRs are brighter, its pretty obvious and at $25 a bulb, a lot less than HIDs

youve already spent the big bucks

HIR = Hallogen Infra Red, its way cool science

good luck and let me know what you do

Joe

not quite sure what ur saying but wat im asking is that yes my low beams are on 100% of the time an night but now since my HID's brightness out does my stock brights are there any bulbs out there that are brighter than the stock bulbs and will kinda out power my hids when i put on my brights

Thanks bonds. I had HID's in my Acura TSX (prior to getting married and the T4R) and loved them. I'd imagine the HID's in an SUV are even better since it's sitting up a bit higher therefore, they should light up the road better.

I was looking on the XD website last night and noticed the HID's are only $225. Worth the money in your opinion? I'm a bit of a skeptic with aftermarket lighting but those pictures make things look pretty good.

The install looks easy enough and I'm mechanically inclined enough... how is the quality of the parts? The bulbs are "rebased" as well correct? How did they look?

Thanks again for the photos.

defently worth it!!!! when i got my kit from from xd the kit cost me $404 they are awesome even thou it was 404 just for lights they were well worth it. My sister currently has an 06 TSX with stock xeon lights i can say with certainty that the kits bulbs are way better than her stock Hids and yes the bulbs are rebased bulbs at least when i got they were. the part quality is very good i havn't had big problems every now and then one of my lights wont come at first but after i turn them off and turn them back on there all good. as for me i think they look awesome. have a couple buddies that have bmw that have stock angel eye Hids and they have told me that they like my hids over theirs + they look very stock ive had a couple of 4runner owners come to and ask if mine came stock cause there runner have the projectors but don't have the hids scale of 1-10 i give 20 knowing now that price has come down i still would have gotten them at 404 there awesome no regrets
didn't catch what model runner you had but just fyi as long as you have projectors they will look even better and they wont look glary hes the kit and what comes in it i followed 4RunnerRon instructions on how to install them heres his thread
