Thanks for posting! That is a time capsule. Makes me confident we can get 5k for our 1990. With Land Cruisers bringing some big numbers lately, it might be time that the 4runner gets their due.

no. all 1st gens have that. so the back seat passenger can open the door. there's also a foot pedal to release the passenger seat and allow it to slide forward.

As an 85 owner, it's great to see the value of these increasing. Similar to comps for home sales, this selling at 15k is good for all of us 1st generation owners.

i don't understand that logic, unless you want to sell it. higher prices suck for those of us who want to keep them (makes "parts rigs" pricier). but, i pretty much drive my vehicles into the ground; i'm not concerned about resale value (there isn't any).

To each his own i suppose... agreed on the parts vehicles, but owning anything of value regardless of what it is that increases due to it's market draw or rarity (which these are slowly becoming) is typically considered positive.

My angle is somewhat different than yours though which is what makes vehicle building, restoring, maintaining, collecting fun and interesting anyway. My goals are to restore what I have with the help of my boys and keep it in the family, hopefully to just pass it down so the long term value of that is something I see as important.

btw, great rig.
