Bro got Raptor

Im waiting on the little brother. If we get the Ranger Raptor in America I will jump ship.

I would be tempted to add a Ranger Raptor to the garage if it has similar travel numbers to the F150 Raptor. What would really excite me would be a Ranger sized truck with factory linked rear suspension in place of the leaf springs (a la the Ram 1500) and F150 Raptor travel numbers.

Thai,

Did you manage to grab any interior pics? For $69K it better come with some Martin Logan speakers instead of the stock JBL. If he considers keeping it out of warranty, invest in a catch can for the engine.

The 7.0 will replace the v10 6.8L, found in the Super Duty, commercial trucks, etc, which the latter is a powerful and durable motor yet slow and thirsty.

No interior pics. Interior is kinda boring. More hard plastic than I want in a $69k truck. It does have the new B&O sound system, which was OK in brief time I tested it. Not as good as the JBL Synthesis system in the Land Cruiser.

Not sure if he bought extended warranty or not. Is the turbo v6 leak? Isn’t this the 2nd gen of the engine?

$69k on a Ford...

Truck prices have inflated quite a bit...but look at the hardware on the Raptor! If you add all those to a standard truck via aftermarket, it will go that high. And you have factory warranty to boot.

Thanks! I think that it also has a TRUE dual exhaust system, which is unique to Raptor i believe.

Do you have any info on the B&O sound system?

All they give us at the dealer is this info about the B&O system...

When I read the title I was expecting to see some dude doing something stupid in a Raptor.

That thing has to be insanely fun to drive. Not sure there's another factory truck that comes close.

I have a friend with an RS 7. It has a B&O sound system. I was pretty disappointed at the sound. Maybe because my expectations were so high? Kind of feel they're capitalizing on their name.

I am not an automotive audiophile by any stretch but I have been underwhelmed by Audi B&O systems. Like you, expectations may have been my downfall though. A friend in the music industry had a B&O set up at home - the sound was something else but he also put a lot of time into component selection, setup, and prepping the room.

For me, i have always put B&O (even home audio) into the category of high-end BOSE. Awesome design. WHAM type of sound that initially will impress anyone. But not particularly accurate or at same level sonically as their price suggest.

I THINK it may have been addressed, but if Ford is ditching the engine for a direct injection V8, I have my doubts.:attention:

Regardless, he should just enjoy it. Sucks on the interior being less than stellar.

My uncle had an Ecoboost for his engineering firm, liked it, but the blowby got out of hand after 120k. My brother installed a catch can, in which my uncle would drain it ever oil change. He gave it to the Maryland kidney foundation at 165,xxx miles.

Keep the thread alive as he drives it.

I will update you guys on his ownership.

But, after my 2008 Sienna connecting rods broke at 90k miles (with regular servicing at dealership), Toyota fame reputation is damaged a little in my eyes. I still prefer Toyota...and my next vehicle will likely be Land Cruiser...but after that experience, i am keeping my options open.
