Broken Clock???

Well, after installing my stereo a couple of weeks ago, my clock instantly stopped working. During installation my friend wired the dimmer wrong and we kept blowing the fuse for the rear tail/brake/interior lights. I fixed the wiring issue, but my clock is still out. It is really annoying to look at the clock and not be there. I checked to make sure that it is plugged in and everything is fine. I also cut the line to the illumination of the ash try (too bright for me). So, in a nut shell, is this a common problem? Did I blow a fuse for the clock I am unaware of? Did I short out the clock? Or does the circuit to the ash tray or dimmer to radio need to be complete for the clock to work?

It happens more times than you would think. Why Toyota made a dead plug that fits the clock plug perfectly is beyond me.....
