Broken hard line - what am I looking at?

Looking under my 4runner I noticed a hard line that has rusted through and need help identifying it.


This is on the passenger side right beside the cat. The lines turn up inside the fender to I'm not sure where. The other end transitions to flexible hose (behind a metal guard) and turns up into the body somewhere along the rear door. There are 2 parallel lines.

It obviously hasn't had fluid in it for awhile and vehicle performance has been normal and smooth. Can someone ID this so I can replace it?

Are those your rear heater lines?
Maybe that line was blocked off at the heater valve in the engine compartment. That's why no fluid in the lines. And being the rear heater, doen't affect performance.

Definitely the rear heater lines. Hopefully they are bypassed under the hood. Other wise, if they have no coolant, your whole system has no coolant.

BrianK14 hit it right. Mine are not even close to that bad. I bypassed them a few weeks ago when i did the oil change. Likely they are already bypassed under the hood.

I'd say someone bypassed these long ago. Clearly you haven't missed the rear seat heater so just rip them out. You can loop the rear rubber hose where it goes up into the floor just to seal the system and keep gunk out.

If you want the rear heat working, the last of the 3rd gens had these lines in aluminum or stainless (not sure which) and will still be in great shape if you find a set in a junkyard.
