That sux! Try Safelite, they say they can replace any glass window. If not, any body shop knows where to get parts cheap. Other than that, toyota dealerships.

Hey, one time I read that a thief stole a GPS unit. I can't remember the whole story but somehow the police were able to track the unit and the thief was caught. The conclusion of the article was that it was dumb to steal a GPS due to its trackability.

I'm sure its happened, but police generally don't care enough to waste the resources, and it could be sold by now.

I used to live by this Toyota specialized junkyard, and they were great. I got a rear window (mine got a really bad scratch) for 90 shipped across the country. It was a PITA to install it though. There's a post on here on how to replace your front window. It was helpful to me.

You can try different junk yards in your area.

If i had the serial number the cops could check the pawn shops and find it, and the guy would get caught but I only have the model number.

I had the same thing happen to me back in October only they busted out the front passenger window on mine. Same thing stolen, an old Garmin GPS and iPod among other things. I took it to Safelite and had a new window within 3 hours of finding it busted out. I think the window and install was $220.

what about insurance. there should be no deductible. at least in Ma there are no charges as long as you have coverage.

That's not the case in NC, I had to pay a $500 deductible. I had tint, so when they busted the window, it didn't completely shatter, so they pulled the whole piece out and scratched my door up. I ended up having to get $1300 worth of paint work done, $220 for the window, and $30 worth of tint. All that for a GPS, iPod, and old Sirius radio.

do you have the choice of having a deductible? check with your agent. in Ma we have the option. most people think that if they have the deductible they will save money each year(they save about 15.00 a year to have a glass deductible). its the same with a deductible on collision the more you have the less you will pay sometimes its less then 20.00 year) i looked at someones car yesterday that had a 2000.00 deductible. check it out you might be suprised.

Its a no deductible but my truck was keyed back in OCT and required an entire new paint job, I dont really want another claim incase insurance goes up. I found a place that will sell me a new window for 100 and Ill install it myself.

insurance does not go up for a glass claim. insurance only goes up if a claim is your fault(surcharge).

trust me.....i work for an insurance co.

IIRC you can have 2 glass claims a year.(depends on the company)
