Broken PC?

I rebuilt my PC now I don't seem to have any ENTER command. You are typing merrily along and hit ENTER....nothing happens. Had to use the Tablet to ask this question.
Help.... it works fine on the Tablet.
Any ideas?

What about Enter on the numpad, does it work?

Download EK Switch Hitter, it will tell you if your Enter key got remapped to something else. If it isn't registering at all but other keys are then good chance it's the switch on your keyboard.

What about Enter on the numpad, does it work? If you hold down Enter + C and select some text and then paste it, that will tell you if you got Ctrl swapped with Enter. Possible on some keyboards..

I think your on to something...that's is whats going on, the #pad is working...its a older Logitech G11 and it seems to not want to talk to this motherboard at the startup/rebuild, like some 1998 crapola...how would I switch this? Damn I feel so old and brainless.

...and that would be that link...DOH. will give it a try...first time I have had this issue after a reformat.

Hah, no worries. I edited my post, download that tool I posted, that will tell us if it got remapped to a different key or if it's your keyboard.

Your insight knocked a little rust off my brain cogs.
It was the BIOS, had the 'Boot up' /'Number Lock on'.
This MOBO is odd, it looses all the USB stuff on a fresh install but has a really nice mouse-able BIOS.


So nice to have a functional ENTER key!
I need to work on my titles..."Broken PC" I mean how vague is that...der.



And more rambling...
I have had this Bird of Paradise/plant since about 1994...it has never flowered in all that time...till Nov 3rd that is!
