Broken USB Port/Replacement

Hi All

My USB port next to the 12v cig lighter under the AC dial broke. This was caused because the spring loaded dust cover was constantly pushing the USB cord to the left.

I have the old USB/headphone jack combo. I know that you can pop out and replace it. However my local dealer wants to charge me a $193 for it. I don’t think so. I’d like to replace it with a dual USB charger. Has anyone replaced theirs? If so any recommendations would be appreciated.

I’ve done some searching but I’m not sure what the measurements for that slot is. The ones I have seen it think fit the button panel slots panel that are left of the steering wheel.

Thanks

I cannot recommend any specific dual USB port for you. I can tell you that, yes, that spot accepts the same size buttons/blanks as you find to the left and right of the steering wheel. I have an aftermarket button in that spot, and moved the factory USB port to the glove box where it use to be located in the earlier 5th Gens.

The correct size will be advertised as "For Toyota 32mm x 22mm (sometimes 20mm)." Compatibility is also the same as 2010+ Toyota Prado (Australia). You will probably have to tap into a 12v from somewhere behind that panel, such as the 12v socket right next it. Not sure what wires are running to that USB port.

Here's a couple of examples from Amazon:

Example 2

Hope this helps!
