I can't believe summer is over, and we all haven't gotten together.
Maybe its because its just about lunch time here (and I'm hungry), but how about us all planning another meet/brunch.

How about saturday 9/30? Any takers? Alternate date? Location TBD.

Sounds good to me, how about somewhere in Northern NJ or southern NY? Of course CT would be great for me, but I think I'm in a minority there.

There's a Harold's Deli in Lyndhurst (by Giant's Stadium).

My truck is a gimp now, waiting on parts but it should be ready by then.

Karl - Look into Upper control arms. I found out that 3" lifts and bigger tires strain the ball joint. Do it before it fails.

Ugh. Think those will be under warranty? I just got the platinum warranty. How much did you pay for the control arms?

Most likely not. It failed in manhattan and I had it towed to my BIL's shop. It happened on Friday night of labor day weekend and I didn't want it sitting outside on a dealer lot over the weekend.

I talked to Toyota and they wanted me to have the truck towed to the dealer just for an inspection to see whether it will be covered. I told the rep about the lift and bigger tires and he said probably not but would have to see the parts. I didn't want to move it since the front wheel is flopping around and chance more damage towing it back and forth AND get dinged with more towing charges if they don't cover it so I decided to fix it myself and get better parts.

I ordered Camburg UCAs from wheeler's offroad. $429 + $50 for 3 day shipping ($20 for regular ground). They're out of stock but should have them in by Monday and I'll have it by Thursday of next week. I also need a swaybar link ($80 shop cost) and wheel sensor wire ($40). I haven't taken anything apart yet so hopefully nothing else is damaged. If that's the case, it'll cost me $900 total for the failure including the towing charges from NYC.

I did have a click when starting or braking and I thought it was the swaybar links or the top of the shocks where the spacers are. I tightened both and the clicking was less but still there. If you have the same symptoms, get the UCAs sooner rather than later.
