I say take off the damage multiplier, sell it on craigslist and buy something cool!
I agree with the whole brush guard making the front look too long on the 99+
IMHO, brush guards have always been a way to toughen up a mall crawler's appearance. I haven't seen many that can pull off the look and not look... cheesy. The only good thing I see about them is that you can mount lights to them (then again, you can on the 99 bumper too).

Personally, I don't think brushguards look good, especially on the 99-02 because of the fatlip, as already mentioned. They also are more likely to cause more damage in a front end collision.

What kind of brush guard is that (brand)? If the above individual doesnt buy it, would you be able to quote me a price if you are willing to sell?

i'm calling bullshit on saying it WILL cause more damage i was side swiped by a metro bus in seattle not to long ago with my wagg brush guard and it actually saved my front fender from worse damage and saved my turn signal assy's on that side, when the bus hit me it caught the brushguard and made my truck rock away from bus just long enough for it to finish passing/side swiping me,
from seeing others brush guards it makes me wonder how many of them actually use a tq wrench to make sure everything is tight and with in spec, and granted i will admit that they can cause more damage in certain situations but saying that it will happen everytime is just not true, i asked my insurance agent about the whole damage multiplier thing and he said b.s. as well if that was true your rates would go up from having one on your rig and you would be denied claims from the damaged caused based on unsafe modifications done to your vehicle.
that said it is a Grey area and is specific to the situation and mounting system of the brush guard and is no replacement for a real bullbar such as an arb type bumper, since my brush guard saved my right fender it allowed me to spend my insurance money on a arb for my truck instead ixing the whole right side and front bumper.
don't know if you can see the left over damage here that i decided not to repair here

So your damage was pre-ARB in the first pic (even tho the ARB is shown)?
Man, I love the looks of that ARB...

yeah i never got a pic of the damage up but that small little dent was from the brush guard, so the first pic shows the damage, without the brush guard it would have really destroyed the whole fender there and the light assy, i opted not to repair that and pocket the money for other things.

i should mention that when i got hit it destroyed the right side of bumper lower valance and the whole right right side of the bumper assy, none of which had anything todo with the brush guard in this istance it did save my truck from further damage as you can see the black marks on the fender flares then caught the brush guard and pushed it brush guard into my truck making that little dent but rocking the truck away from the bus enough to protect the upper half of that fender where the guard covered.
again though let me stress the fact that sometimes it will help protect you and other times it won't and may cause more damage it all depends on how you get hit and what happens from then on, i say it's a 50/50 thing and keep it on if you like the looks and take it off if you don't
