Hey guys, have any of you installed the BB hidden winch on a 4th gen 4R chassis with a 1 inch body lift?
I'm wondering if the BL would screw up the alignment of the winch line openings (hawse or roller) vs the bottom edge of the opening in the lower grill of the bumper cover?
Or is there likely room to make it work if that body and bumper cover is sitting 1 inch higher off the chassis?
From the pics I've of you your installs, it looks like I can squeeze it in if I use the plate, but prolly not so if I use the roller?

Oooh that's a good question. I did a half inch body lift after I did the winch thing. I have not used the winch since either hmm. I would have to check it and hey back to you.

From looking at mine I think you would be ok (tight though ) if you used a Hawse fairlead. But no go on the roller style.
I'd planned on ordering the BB hidden winch mount next month for an upcoming trip this fall. In anticipation of my own install I sub'ed to this thread for any insight you guys could share. Luckily when [MENTION=86678]ebg18t[/MENTION] decided to sell his mount I received an email with the update and jumped quickly to ensure the purchase.
[MENTION=86678]ebg18t[/MENTION] was great to deal with and thanks for prompt response and shipping.
Below are some highlights from my experience with the install.
The mount as I received it.
I'm not going to go through the install since [MENTION=86678]ebg18t[/MENTION] has already done a great job. I did run into one problem but I will be able to live with it. The ubolts on the front are rubbing against the bottom of the bumper cover. This keeps the center four mounts from aligning.
I noticed that to get the bumper cover to fit high and next to the headlights I had to get the front of the winch mount below the bottom grill opening.
I also had to clock the clutch lever to allow full access without needing to cut the top of the bumper cover.
Final product.
I still have to connect electrical and mount the solenoid box somewhere since there isn't enough room behind the bumper. I will also add some padding around the A/C tubing that is close to the winch to prevent rubbing. When doing this work I may try to adjust the bumper cover and see if I can find a work around for the fit.
I'm open to suggestions.

This is where I want to start with adjustments. You are probably correct since I wouldn't be able to mount anything like you did with your LEDs. I will have to cut out the brace between the bottom and first divider.

I'm not a patient man so after getting home I decided to do a quick look and see what adjustments I could make. Leaving the bumper bolted in place except for the four middle screws I pulled the cover out and down so the winch mount was above the bottom edge of the grille.This allowed me to push the bottom of the bumper cover back and bolt everything in place. I did have to cut the vertical brace out of the way for this to work. Pictures below should clear up my description.
I'm not a patient man so after getting home I decided to do a quick look and see what adjustments I could make. Not sure what I want to mount there just yet. Thought about going with a light bar above the winch with some custom mounts. :noidea:

I don't have a great pic but the controller is mounted at the end of the winch on the passenger side. I have it standing up vertically and fits perfectly. I still need to pick up some flat bar and bolt it to the factory bumper support but it fits so nicely I'm in no hurry.
I also moved the winch control plug so it would be easier to get to. I mounted close to the edge of the plastic due to molded supports in the plastic. It moves a little when unplugging but I'm going to wire a switch in the dash so not planning on using the hand control very often. Also, when I removed the control plug I cut a then strip of metal to cover the hole which is sealed with silicon and bolted in place (no pic of this).
Just Lookin' out for you. My wench prefers to stay in the cabin (with the ac).
