Winch arrived. Ordered Vortex 8k. They sent 8.5k. They are known to upgrade you for free:)

Good box for shipping. Plastic strapped. I've cut that away.

I like Vortex for price but also for the remote control that comes standard.

I like those rollers!

Guys after having my hidden winch plate for almost 10 months now.

I really suggest you guys buy a winch with synthetic line and a wireless remote control option.

Why?

First time you wind that steel cable the wrong way and it gets kinked up. It's a pita to un wind, then it's close to your ac lines.

Remote control makes life so much easier when you need to use it, laziness above all else lol :)

That little blue wireless unit in the box is a remote control. Only thing I ever seemed to use on old vortex winch. Thanks for the heads up on kink issue. Part of why I went w smaller winch. Figured Space to be an issue. Will let you all know.

Needed pipe to pop 8 bolts

Post instal. I'm not sure but I think Buds may have shipped me a 5th gen. This one is sitting high, bc winch bolts (2) are sitting between plate and cross member.

Closer shot of final. Very heavy! Needed sons to help lift plate, winch, bumper cross member. Also good thing I had a warn hause...otherwise it would be too high inside bumper compartment.

So I have a fair lead if anyone wants to buy it. Will list with eBay soon:)

How do your trucks feel/handle (those that are running factory coils w/ Daystar spacer lifts) after install this plate/winch combo? Can you tell any difference? Any sagging? They look great! Thanks.

The winch plate is ~#25 winch with synthetic is ~#70. So figure #100 added on, you will probably drop .5"-.75" on the front end due to weight.

When I did the daystar it actually seemed to me the front was slightly higher. Bit just seemed that way. I now have winch and plate on and I couldn't be happier with ride and stance. Zero change in handling. And I would add the daystar gave zero change in ride quality. It's factory quality all the way and coming from a Jeep to 4runner was a huge improvement in that department. daystar has been my favorite mod so far. Had I known I would table everything to get the daystar.

Playing with the winch and rubber coating the cable so I can keep the all black theme going:). Shackle and stop on the way... Mainly playing with it all on Labor Day.
