Well yeah, not much snow but I don't have a garage.
Interesting read and idea, but I really don't like the way it looks in the front. Line with a hook under the bumper is nicer IMO.

Well yeah, there is one way to do things for looks and another way for function. Sometimes they are the same but function should win if there is an argument.

Anyways, smart money is always to do the heavy mods first and then match the shocks and springs for your actual requirements. Here too looks can get in the way of functionality.

Where in philly are you? I'm in Bucks and usually have garage space available.

Agree about functionality over looks, and I always try to "meet" in the middle, bot not always works out that way. I'm all for functionality and quality, and that's why I have Toyota .

My only concern about doing the heavy mods first is that my 265/70/17 tires rub at full lock. I don't have any mods yet, besides for the tires/wheels. I do plan eventually get sliders, 3/4 roof rack and tank skid.

Also, I'm trying to install the control box for the winch under the hood, thus I need longer cables. Do you think 4 awg will be enough? It's a smittybilt xrc 9.5 winch and it came with 3 awg I believe. Or rather 2 awg since I can't find 3 awg anywhere.

You need to ask the smarter sparkies here but I think Warn uses 2 gauge.

Look up Harper's fender liner moving mod to give you more room for your tire. He also had a thread somewhere about the proper alignment specs that would also help. My comment about doing suspension near the end was more a general statement since so many do it first just for "looks" and then need to change up later to match the mods. I too was guilty and had to get different rear springs.

Where do you go off-roading besides Rausch Creek and NJ Pine Barrens? You do any over-landing/cross-country trips?

No problem. Good luck. Locally we do Rausch but have only done Da Barrens on ATV and think I still have some embedded mud. But yeah, done some cross country trips out to CO.
