Lee, that looks good! I've been looking into doing a belly skid setup as well. I like how you've done yours. When I get tired of looking at my stock bumper, I plan on getting a TJM as well. I'll probably go the T-15 route though.

yeah that combo makes you feel a lot safer offroad.

im now much more confident crawling rocks... cant wait to go out and do that!

these things are really heavy though... they cause the vibrations of the truck in idle to be a bit stronger and cause a bit more steering rumble than with stock.

but its well worth that "price".

next up.. locker (on its way), front spacers, new OME rear coils, custom rear bumper.

You have a pic of a customer rear bumper you're considering or are you going to have a "one-of-kind" model hand-crafted?

I personally like Darren's rear bumper minus the tire carrier on his '02 T4R. I'd like to do a similar setup.

that is EXACTLY what i was going to post.

only i wanna keep the stock bumper pad.

I see what you mean now. Just curious, why do you want to keep it? Just for a more stock look?

Who are you going to get to build you a bumper? You have a place nearby to do the work?

He's probably going to get one of the infamous Bruce TS bumpers...

Lee, maybe I'm weird, but I really like the look of the budbuilt.com sticker on the skid. Others that have posted pics w/ a TJM or ARB and the budbuilt skid look really cool, and part of the cool factor is the sticker.

Also, what locker did you end up getting? Are you just doing the rear or both front and rear? Are you gonna do a regear at the same time?

You've done so much in the past six months. You're truck looks nothing like it did when I started on this board and the "other" board.

i have a couple options... either an ne4roc member who builds AWESOME stuff will do it, or i might get the bruce one like mentioned above... his are great too. depends on timing, cost, etc.

i wanna keep the bumper pad because its a nice guide for the bumper to fit well, it'll keep the same lines in place, and it works very well as a protector should i be throwing heavy or metallic things into the trunk.

its not that i dont like the sticker, but the .com part came off and so now its totally off-center! im gonna ask bud if he can send me another to replace it.

i got a powertrax no-slip locker.. should be here today i hope... im just locking the rear. not regearing unfortunately.

im gonna lift higher first then when i get new tires ill hopefully regear at the same time.

thanks for the compliments, i finally got to a point where i paid enough of the truck off to spend some of the money on mods!

Powertrax no-slip - haven't read up on these. Is this a full-time locker or more of an LSD type?

Congrats on paying off the truck. It's a great feeling not having a monthly payment. The only bad part is you know you have extra cash for mods...

you can read more about the locker here:

That's a sick looking 4Runner!! What size tires are those? 33's, 35's?

Yeah that bumper does look nice. I'll have to do some checking around town to see if we have any one qualified to create a similar bumper.

Wow, that sounds like the best of both worlds. A locker w/o the clicking on turns. When I scrolled down to the 8" toyota axle, it showed as pre-95 and no other choices. Is this the one you're getting? It seems pretty reasonable in price if this is the right one and is very comparable to a Trutrac.

35's. The guy that made the bumper may soon be selling a kit so it can be put together locally. It's been up in the air for awhile so I wouldn't hold my breath.

ive always liked those bruce ts bumpers... as soon as i get some $$ i plan on getting one, lee, nice skids.... do you mind if i ask how much you spent on the locker? i need to start doing some more stuff to my truck lee, your catching up!!
