Bug Shield Suggestions

Hey,
Just bought my first 4Runner, 1999 SR5 4WD, and am looking at getting a bug shield/hood protector. I'd like one that contours to the hood nicely and uses screws instead of tape for installation. Any info from owners and pics would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
zsmithku

I have a AVS that I got for free a while back with no mounting hardware. It contours to the body well, uses small plastic screws to mount. I don't have any pictures becaues I decided not to use it and now its just chillin in my garage on a shelf..

I love mine, its a LUND. I never have any bugs on the windsheild, not even on long trips.

I asked the same question a while back and a lot of people recommended the AVS Bugflector II to me. It really is a good quality deflector; it keeps bugs and rock fragments from hitting my windshield, it's easy to clean the paint behind the deflector, and it is super easy to install, using screws that go into existing holes under your hood.

I 2nd the AVS version since it's got nice hood contour and easy to clean behind and doesn't touch the hood but doesn't stick up too high.

It does come with bumpstop for the hood but I've never used them since for the deflector to touch the hood you have to force it back to actually touch it.

I'm on my 2nd one as this one deflected a big rock and thank god I had it on there.

AVS here. can be had for like 30-40 on amazon I think. Can also find a set of window rain guards as a package with them too.
