It's not terrible. I'd add a rail around the edge and some tiedown loops, but that looks like a simple easy project for sure.

You and me both! I didn't have a shop class in high school, Now reading a lot of these build threads, I wish I had learned.

I do have a buddy that has offered to teach me.

Anyone have a list of weld projects for the 4Runner?:biggrin2:

4th gen rear bumper. . . . . .

2.) Hybrid front bumper
3.) Sliders
4.) Hybrid rear bumper
5.) Roof light bar mounts
6.) Full belly skids

I could go on for hours of the most random stuff I would just want to build with a welder that I think would be sweet

For those that expressed a desire to learn, all I can say is "just do it!"

Machines today are fairly inexpensive, and it is probably the most useful tool to add to your arsenal. Hell, if I'm bored I just go out and weld up some scrap just to keep my hand steady, or I should say, steadier.

If you need to convince the "Boss," just show her some "lawn art" that can be welded up ...

good practice

I try to weld whenever I can for good practice. The place I bought my welder worked with me about two hours the day I bought my welder. The bad part is metal is expensive.
