Nice build! Love the rear hatch LED's. Glad to hear you got the motor back finally. I see you bought a header. Any plans for a high flow cat and new exhaust set-up?

Saturday 8:30 am; woke up groggy. Late night finishing final project for a class. Thank goodness that's over. Full time job and college, holy crap!
Throw on some work clothes and head for my brothers garage.
9:00 am; I am looking at the naked long block that I picked up on Wednesday, thinking to myself "how have I not touched this for two whole days?"

10:30 am; things are looking strong and I'm off to a great start. I have the block dressed up enough to drop into the bay. Not bad.

6:23 pm; my engine bay looks like this, but someone forgot to buy oil and a filter for first startup. So it's off to the auto parts store.

7:15 pm; It's alive! First start went great! Just unplugged the EFI relay and coil packs, cranked it over until I had oil pressure, plugged it all back in and she fired right up. Smoke cleared up mostly after running for about 5 minutes.
Then I actually drove it! It felt great! Ran good, new Marlin clutch was smooth, suspension felt good. Def needs an alignment...
Also CEL came on right after starting, not too worried tho, I think it's an old stored code.

Got it aligned tonight. Anyone near Prescott AZ, "Jims Alignment and Brakes" is the absolute best game in town.
I finally drove this beast home. I have owned it since the beginning of October, and it has been in pieces longer than I have actually driven it. I am super pumped to finally have it running! And looking sharp I might add. Will add a pic or two tomorrow when its light.
Also update on the CEL. Pulled out the old scan tool, got a P0340, Cam sensor fault. So I took a look and lo and behold.... I forgot to plug it in, silly me. Plugged it in and poof all my troubles are gone :first:

Went out in Red today, just some varmint calling and dirt road cruising to try out my new suspension. I like this setup so far. Also found out that my front axle isnt engaging, gotta trouble shoot a little

So the new motor seems to be having some issues, I'm fairly unhappy about this. Its leaking like crazy, I mean I added a full quart after around 300 miles. The weird thing is its leaking from the head gasket around cyl 1. Im also getting terrible gas mileage, 14-15 mostly hwy (remember this is the 4 cylinder)
I did talk to my shop and they want their guy to fix it. They seem to think its the timing cover (because they somehow forgot to machine it with the block, or they didnt even surface the block) They are dragging their feet about fixing it. Seriously 6 weeks to get the motor back, now three more for them to fix it.

Fingers crossed here. I'm dropping the truck off with the machine shop's mechanic tomorrow afternoon, he says it will probably be the beginning of next week before I have it back.

So a little update on a couple things I have done lately
Built a cargo tie down rack for the bed floor. I can't stand stuff rolling and sliding all over my truck. It bolts down to the stock tie down locations.
So I removed the stock tie down loops from the back. I drilled two of them out to accept the 12mm bolts for the seats, and made some tie points for the front area
And worked on my roof rack some more
