Bull bar or light bar?

Looking for something to mount lights on until I can afford a shrockworks or arb bumper? I'm not really a fan of the look of Westin/ steelcraft bull bars though. I've seen others that are more square looking. Anyway just lookin for some opinions from you guys. Read some others threads but only saw the above two mentioned. Thanks!

Did you see the Defiant bar? A lot of people seem to like it. I have one and it's very sturdy, sturdy enough for me to stand on, and mounts high enough to not change approach angle. There are a ton of pictures of mine in the build thread link in my signature.

Alright thanks man. Yeah Darkie was the one that told me about the defiant. Just wondering if bull bars have any advantages over them? Such as collision etc?

I would say - disadvantage. In case of small bumper to bumper incident, there is a possibility of getting away with only scratched paint since it would be plastic to plastic. You might cause and receive more damage with bull bar installed (not even mentioning if you have full grille guard) and you can also damage the framework the bar is fastened to.
I installed a grille guard few days ago. After I saw how close is it to everything (hood, lights, bumper) and where was it attached, I pictured some light impact will do an extensive damage to many parts of the vehicle to compare to just having scratched bumper. So grille guard went off and it's for sale now

The ARB bullbar on my Land Cruiser could take a deer at 60+mph without damaging the hood or frame. I'm not sure if the T4R version mounts to solid enough frame to do the same, but that would be my reasoning toward getting the ARB. After hitting five deer and totaling two cars, my priorities lean toward what a bullbar is designed for.
