Bump?

What does it mean when someone posts "bump" as a reply? I am clueless as usual!!

to "bump" is to literally "bump" that particular thread up to the top of the forum list. As new posts and replies by members appear a thread can easily get pushed to the second page and forgotten about.

thanks, makes sense. Someone told me it was to bump that person off the forum - i knew that didnt sound right. lol
