Bumper faces rusting

I have too many questions today! I've experienced a good amount of rust seeping through my front and rear chrome bumper faces this summer. They are rotting from the inside out. Does anyone know if I can replace these with the color keyed plastic ones such as on an SR5 Sport or Limited? I can have them painted, just curious if they can be swapped out with clips and hangers and the like.

Great question. I just replaced my rear (one from eBay) after an ever growing hole. I debated on rhinoshield, but in the end if I can get another 10 years I'll be happy. I have a little weaping on the front starting (will do arb when that goes). Sad that it happens from the inside out when everything else is in such great shape. There is a local dealer that repairs the rusty bumpers before putting used 4runners on the lot. They do gray herculiner over the patch. Looks shady and the two they did on the lot are already weaping through. Bumper covers sound interesting.

So you know which bumpers I'm talking about replacing the chrome with? Have you heard of anyone swapping these out? I'm gonna take a look around, junkyards and such to see. My color didn't come in a sport model so I'd have to paint but that's easy.

Pretty sure all fat lip bumpers are the same. Should just bolt right up
